Are you looking for a Bible Camp with a Cowboy Setting? Does your idea of fun involve camping out for a week, rain or shine? Do you think you’d like to learn about the care and safe handling of horses, and how to ride them safely, as well? Does campfire cooking and learning about cowboy crafts and skills appeal to your sense of adventure? Want to learn how to spin a rope, or crack a bullwhip? If the Cowboy Way is something you’d like to find out more about, then... Cowboy Lee's Cowboy Adventure Camps ...are just what you’ve been looking for. Wannabe cowboys and cowgirls who sign on for a Cowboy Lee Camp will experience an exciting week packed full of cowboy lore and uplifting Bible study. From the time you wake up at sunrise, until you turn in at night, you’ll be on the move with a full schedule of activities. There are no boring times at these camps. Your horse has to be fed before you get your breakfast. After chores, we gather at the flagpole for the “pledge and prayer.” The cowboy cook- “Cookie” - then has your morning vittles waiting, as everyone sits on the ground to eat cowboy style. The rest of the day is given over to horsemanship training, serious Bible study that speaks practically and powerfully to the Christian Cowboy or Cowgirl, leather craft, trick roping, whip cracking, cowboy games and the “famous, wild bucking barrel” - a huge amount of fun for everybody. After supper, there is usually time for some more riding or special activities. As the sun begins to set, all the buckeroos gather around for our Cowboy Church. At the end of the day, you’re tired and ready for some shuteye. You lay down on your bedroll, you listen to the last crackling sounds of the campfire that is dying out, along with the crickets and other sounds that come with the night. You’ll have no problem drifting off to sleep. There will be four cowboy camps this summer! We will send out more information on this soon. Interested call us! The Cowboy Camps will accommodate no more than 25 to 30 campers including our staff! Sooooo, it’s important to send in your application early! Acceptance will be determined, in part, by the order the applications are received. After applications are accepted, each cowboy/cowgirl and parent or guardian will receive a program and activity schedule. Also guidelines will be given about what to bring. The cost for each camp will be $350.00. This camp fee includes all activities including a trick rope (spinning) and a catch rope for each cowboy/cowgirl to use and take home, trophies for the “Shodeo” and leather craft. However, it does not include the cost for travel to or from the camp. We anticipate that campers will be coming from near and far. It would be impossible to arrange travel from their homes. We will, however, make arrangements for them to be picked up and returned to the nearest bus or plane depot if requested. I can hardly contain myself for anticipation of Cowboy Camp. We have a full staff that is “Root’en - Toot’en” ready to “Head’em-up and Move’em Out.” I will be in attendance at each camp to give individual instruction in the cowboy skills of Trick Roping and Bullwhip artistry just like I did for Cowboy Andy Rotz when he was 12 years old. Andy, now 21 years old, holds a world title in Trick Roping and is in the 2005 Guinness Book of World Records, Page 37. You can go to this Web Site http://www.your4state.com/content/fulltext/?cid=9925 and see a video clip of Andy’s performance and hear his testimony. My father, “Nevada Steve,” was a professional, championship rodeo cowboy and performer. He was one of the last of the “old time” cowboys. I grew up in that environment and on the back of a horse. As a boy, together with my brother and sister, we shared the rodeo ring with my dad. What wonderful memories. Now, I’m in my second childhood and if, by the grace of God, I can lead some young person to drink of the “water of life” and if I can help some young person find enjoyment by learning to do some “Cowboy Trick Roping” then, I will feel that I have not lived my life in vain. Dear praying friend, we can help each other get ready and make plans if you will please call, 1-888-220-3618 or e-mail me at: cowboylee@bdtlb.org. Or, better yet, get an Application/Enrollment Form and mail it in...right away. Have a friend? Send them one too! The Saturday Afternoon “Shodeo” will be one of the highlights of our camping experience. We will invite neighboring churches, parents, family, and friends to come and enjoy the show and “dinner on the ground” with a big pot of “Cowboy Stew” - and all the “fixins,” like my dad used to make! Then the “Buckaroo Boys and Girls” will show off their horsemanship skills with some intense competition, followed by the awarding of trophies given to the winners. Well, what do you say, Pardner? Are you ready to saddle up and hit the Cowboy Trail with us? Don’t take too long to make up your mind. The number of riders is limited, so contact us and let us know which Cowboy Camp date has captured your attention. Winning, Working and Waiting,
